Project Organization

The organisational scheme of the project consists of the Participating Partners (PP), which are the Main partners and the Asssociate Partners, the PrOject Leader (POL), the Steering Committee (SC), and the PrOject MAnager (POMA). Each part will have specific responsibilities and will contribute to the effective implementation of the co-ordinating activities.

The Project will consist of original participating partners and for its continuation and expansion any other interested partner can participate. Partners will be further grouped into Main Partners (MP) and Associate Partners (AP) who are interested in the activities. Associate Partners (AP) can apply to the Steering Committee to become MP
Main Partners (MP) have the overall responsibility for co-ordinating the project-related activities, MP should offer complementary expertise, which covers the domains of project, and they will be expected to have developed and established strong communicational links among them.
Associate Partners (AP) will have some minimum activities in the proposed topics providing information and input to project activities. However, their role is important for the overall success and continuation of the project. As they eventually increase in number, the AP members will become more and more active on the project activities.
The PrOject Leader (POL) should provide technical co-ordination and he plans the overall activities of the project. His main responsibility will be to put into practice all actions that have been decided and agreed. He will also have the duty to supervise the administrative works of the project and will report to the Steering Committee. Furthermore, he will also be in charge of the management of the overall funding/spending of the project and to provide the progress reports. The PrOject Leader (POL) will be Prof. Peter P. Groumpos, CEO of Patras Science Park (PSP).
The SC will comprise of one representative of each MP and one external observer from the Interreg Commission. The SC will meet approximately every six months. The main responsibilities of the Steering Committee (SC) are :
- To oversee the establishment, running and overall strategy of the project.
- To oversee the administration of the project funds, fellowships and activities proposals contributing in national policies and participating in relevant programmes.
- To oversee the establishment, running and development of the project actions and policies.
- To establish criteria for expanding and adding new members.
- To encourage and support Operational Committee (OC).
- SC is the body to give solution to any conflict or disagreement problem.
The Steering Committee directs the overall management of the project. They review the progress of the project, set its priorities and issue guidelines to the coordinating committee.
The PrOject MAnager (POMA) will support technically the works of the project, will monitor all the activities of the project and he will provide management support of financial issues of the project. POMA belongs to the same partner as the POL.
A management team will support project manager and project Leader. Principal responsibilities of the management team are to maintain an up to date database of the members, their skills and activities and the management of the information and knowledge generated by the project. It is also responsible to publish Newsletter, setting up locations and organising seminars, workshop and conferences and the maintenance of the Web site. An ample, agile and continued space for discussion will be set up also in trasnational ambit, through the use of flag tools as non-moderated mailing lists.
